The Story
A local farmer launched GOTG in response to the COVID-19 pandemic that deeply impacted small businesses and their families around the globe. As a dedicated market master and business owner of many years, this farmer witnessed the struggle and the strife first-hand, and wanted to make a positive difference in every way possible.
The Mission
To showcase the skills and talents of many independent makers for community members to shop, reminding us all that “every dollar is a vote” for what we want more of in this world. This good work supports local folks around Connecticut and New England, and a few other special places, in an effort to build a thriving local economy that circulates dollars throughout the surrounding communities.
We are now excited to also provide an online platform where folks can go year-round, any day or any time, from anywhere in the United States, to support our local makers and doers. The best part is we now offer shipping throughout the United States. We believe this furthers our mission of support and expands our services, making it easier for folks to receive high quality, handcrafted goods as they are available.
A friendly word of advice from our staff…
If you see something online that you want to get or give, please purchase it right away. Quantities are always limited on local and handmade goods. Many are one-of-a-kind and often cannot be produced the same way twice.
We only sell what we have in stock and it can take awhile for our makers to produce more product as they are FOLKS, NOT FACTORIES. That’s also why you won’t see quantities of 10 or 20, or more when you select items to add to your cart.
